General Data Protection Regulations

On 25th May 2018 the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018 come into force in the UK. These Regulations strengthen the law in relation to data protection and privacy.

We very much welcome the change in the law, which will give you more control over your personal data.

You will not notice any impact on the services we provide to you. This is because all we do with your data, is hold it securely and provide the technology that allows you to add to it, access it, change it, share it, or otherwise deal with it as you see fit.

We are defined as a “Data Processor” – this means that we provide technology to you, but we do not make decisions about controlling personal data – we leave that to you.

It is essential to us that you have complete control over your data, part of that involves us being completely clear about how you move data around using our products. Please take some time to read our updated privacy policy, in which we list the ways you might be able to share data.

A final thing to bear in mind is that the new Regulations only relate to “personal data”. That is data from which you can identify a person. The vast majority of the data we hold on your behalf is not personal data, but we treat it as if it is.

In summary, we give you the benefit of the Regulations in relation to all data we hold for you. We see the Regulations as the bare minimum – we strive to provide you with the highest possible standard of data privacy protection.
